Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this organization unique from existing organizations on Vanderbilt’s campus?

This organization is dedicated to working with the university to advocate on behalf of Asian and Asian American students on campus. While there are a plethora of social Asian and Asian American cultural organizations, this organization fills the much-needed advocacy gap that exists amongst these cultural organizations. While the missions of several of the existing organizations focus on issues relevant to their members; they focus on creating change through social means and student-to-student change for undergraduate students. The Asian American Advocacy Project will not focus on programming, but rather focus on creating structural change at Vanderbilt University for students in all ten schools, not just for undergraduate students.
